Music list #1

)Stay Alive by Trapt. I like this song because it has a positive message. The lyrics are about how it doesn’t matter what happens, you will survive it. Also I like to listen to it when I am feeling down.

)Barracuda by Heart. I like this song because it is a classic rock n roll song. I feel this was the start of female lead singers. That it lead to bands like Paramore, and Flyleaf.

)New Divide by Linkin park. What I like about this song is that the lyrics just make you want to go out and take on the world. It just gives you the strength, and idea that you can.

)Smells like teen Spirit by Nirvana. This again is a classic. I like this song because it has more of a steady beat through-out the song. Also I like how the song focuses more on the drums and the other instruments used, instead of just the lyrics.

)Hella Good by No Doubt. I like the beat in this song; it’s a different kind of beat. It has the drums and guitar, but there is something else that makes it pop. It sounds like a zipper, but computerized.

)Born for this by Paramore. This song is about the pressures of life. The lyrics are about the pressures in life, and how you can overcome them. I like it because it is a song I can go and listen to when I feel over whelmed.

)Second Chance by Shinedown. I like how real this song is. It talks about how sometimes you have to say goodbye to help yourself or others around you. Also it talks about how you need to use your voice and speak up for yourself.

)Dare you to move by Switchfoot. If you are having a bad day and really don’t know what to do, listen to this song. It tells you to get back up and figure out your problems and don’t be afraid to fall. Just live your life without fear of falling down.

)Stand up by Trapt. I like this because it tells you to face what is bothering you. By facing the problem, and finding a solution, and not being afraid of facing the problem.

)Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas. I like this song because of its beat. Also I like it because it is a flashy song. Meaning it talks about how cool you are and that you should crank up or stereo.

  1. Good list. I agree that Heart set a good precedent for female lead singers in rock 'n' roll, but '60s/70s singers like Janis Joplin, Grace Slick and Gladys Knight led the way. You'll get to hear them later.
