Music Memories #2 ( Revision)

For this interview I interviewed my grandparents. I found that, like my grandma, we didn’t really listen to music when we were kids. However, I think that I was introduced to music at a younger age then her. Both of them didn’t have TV, but had radio. But there weren’t many channels, and they had to listen to whatever was on. I have always had a TV and radio with many channels. They weren’t exposed too much music, as I was. Later in her teenage years she listened to artists like Pat Boone, The Maguire Sisters, and Brenda Lee. Her type of music was mostly harmony, and vocal.

My Grandpa liked the love songs, but not limited to it. He listened to Elvis Presley, the temptations, and Big Bopper. I would say that my grandpa and I have similar tastes of music. However, I think that I am more opened minded with music. I listen to a variety of music; I don’t just listen to one type. Both of them didn’t go to concerts. My grandma didn’t really like concerts. It sounded like she thought it was kind of wrong to go to one. At the time there were'nt that many and all of the tickets were sold out before they could get them.
Now there are so many concerts, and they have a lot of tickets to sell because the concerts are being held in big arenas. Also, going to a concert now isn’t bad a thing. There are so many teenagers going to concerts, and there are many adults going too. My grandpa’s music preference hasn’t changed that much. He doesn’t like any of the music that is out now, and he feels that the music today is bad, violent and pointless. Also, that many of the singers cannot sing, and use technology to change the singer’s voice, with this he thinks that if they were to sing without the music they would'nt sound every good. But my grandma now listens to Elvis. She grew up with him, but never liked him, until now.
I think it had to do with the fact that, back then you were a bad kid to listen to him and like him. But now it doesn’t matter. They now go to shows in Reno, like dinner shows. So they go to more concerts now than they did back then. However it isn’t shows like a band, or a singer that I would go see. I guess in a way the shows that they go to are more for people that are older than me. I think that when I get to their age that is what I will be doing the same thing. I never realized how much music has changed over time. Also, I never knew that they weren’t really exposed to music, like I was.

  1. Good job on these interviews. It's funny how many things we now take for granted, like TV.

Adding some paragraph breaks (and a little more proofing) would make this essay even better.
